About Me

 I was born in Portage La Prairie Manitoba and moved to Toronto as a child.  I attended the University of Toronto where I earned an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Philosophy, and a Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree in Counselling Psychology.

I have practiced in Ontario for 30 years.  My experience has included counselling adults as well as assessment and consultation services for students at the elementary, secondary and post-secondary levels. 

I retired from full-time practice in August, 2022 and I am building a part-time practice in the Collingwood area at this time.

My Approach

I adopt an “eclectic” approach which means I use techniques form a number of different therapies that are best suited to the needs of individual. My approach includes intervention strategies associated with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Support or Client Centered Therapy, Insight Oriented Therapy, Family Systems Therapy and Existential Psychotherapy.  In-person counselling or sessions by way of videoconferencing are available.

My Credentials

After receiving my Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto in 1991 and am licenced or registered to practice as a Clinical, Counselling and School Psychologist (Reg. # 2482) in Ontario.  I am a full member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

Fees

Fees are likely covered, in part or in whole, through Extended Health Care Plans. My fees are $185 per hour. Payment is due at each session.  MasterCard, Visa, Debit, E-Transfer and Cash are accepted. Cancellations are permitted up to 24 hours before the scheduled appointment.  A one-hour appointment is 50 minutes in length, with the remaining 10 minutes set aside for note-taking and treatment planning. Should the client not attend and did not notify, the regular fee for the missed session may apply
